Plot Synopsis[]
Black mist dissipates from Qin as she floats to the ground. Determined and still holding his sword tight, Jinghua then asks if she is okay. Silent as she lays on the floor, Xi asks miss Qin why, why did she want to attack his soul image, what happened.[1]
Glowering, Qin begins to reply before Jinghua intervenes to cover her actions with the white lie that he peeked at her on the shower. Qin cannot believe seeing Jinghua explain to Xi that he realised that he could phase though walls. With that he wanted to see what peeking at girls in the shower was like.[2]
Of course he did something like that, as Jinghua laughs this remark off from Xi, more so when Xi calls him scum and asks where is his sense of shame. As Qin looks on, Jinghua continues to support this lie to cover her actions that he has always been this low-born and has thought about trying this long ago.[3]
With tears in her eyes, Qin thinks she will not thank him but even so, as Jinghua looks back to see her. He understands, this kind feeling, to be willing to throw away your dignity yet also wanting to protect your love, that frame of mind. Recalling as he was strangled, the feeling of pain Jinghua felt at the time was in fact her innermost feelings. That kind of feeling, Jinghua does not know why but he truly felt it.[4]
Xi does not forget, stopping at the door he turns to Qin and tells her to come along as well. It is too dangerous outside after all, the evil spirits might come back and the Duanmu household has better protection.[5]
With a mix of delight and wonder, Qin questions just to be sure that he is inviting her to his home. In the middle of asking her if she does not want to come or not, Qin has vanished behind a folding screen to instantly emerge pristine and glamorously dressed. She politely insist that she cannot possibly reject his hospitality, she is so sorry to impose on him.
Jinghua is horrified, of her elegant look and mannerisms and that even her luggage has been packed so fast.[6]
Notes and Trivia[]
